From time to time, we all like taking a day off work. However, this Arizona man seemed to take things to a whole new level just to avoid going to work.
On February 10, the Coolidge police received an emergency call from a resident reporting that he found a man lying on one side of the road. His hands were tied behind his back. Immediately, the police were on their way to the scene. They indeed found a young man who had been bound and left on the side of the road.
The man was identified as 19-year-old Brandon Soules. He told the police that two masked men had k.i.d.napped him after hitting him on the head, making him unconscious. They put him in their car, drove him around before dropping him where he was found by the police.
However, the whole story wasn’t entirely true. In a statement, the police announced that after going through a thorough investigation, they discovered that the story of the man was completely made up. He was neither k.i.d.napped nor a.s.s.aulted.
According to Soules’ claims, the k.i.d.nappers targetted him because of his father’s money hidden somewhere around town. However, police found no evidence to prove that. The surveillance footage they got countered most of his statements.
Later, Brandon Soules confessed that he had faked his own k.i.d.napping just to get out of work that day. He put a crumpled bandana inside his mouth and tied his hands with his leather belt. After that, he dropped to the ground where someone could easily notice him and call the police.
On February 17, the police finally arrested Soules for filing false reports. He had also been fired from the company where he worked at.
